General
General questions about what to expect on-site, what to bring, and how the festival works.
There are numerous water points marked and available throughout the festival where you can refill your water bottles and canisters.
We have partnered with only the very best vegan and vegetarian food vendors to bring you healthy and delicious treats throughout Retreat Yourself.
Please keep in mind that Retreat Yourself is a meat-free event. You are, however, welcome to bring your own food — including meat — if you wish to do so.
A full bar will be available to guests over 18. Pop-up juice, smoothie and coffee stations will also be available throughout the festival.
Please note that no open fires are permitted due to safety reasons.
Unfortunately, no open flames are permitted on the festival grounds under any circumstances. This is to protect the rich biodiversity of the area by reducing the risk of fires.
You are welcome to bring along your own alcohol, but no glass will be allowed through the festival gates for safety reasons.
Unfortunately, the venue does not allow pets on the farm.
Yes, we do. You will find bins placed throughout the village where your waste can be deposited.
We have contracted a local supplier who transports all waste to an on-site sorting bay, where it is properly sorted and all possible waste is recycled.
No, we do not offer day passes.
Retreat Yourself is designed as a complete experience. It takes time to arrive, settle in, slow down and find your rhythm — which is why the festival is built around the full weekend journey.
You will be able to pay using your Howler cashless wristband, which can be topped up online or on-site at the designated top-up stations.
Card payments will also be available.
Yes, there will be WiFi hotspots available on-site.
Day and weekend WiFi vouchers will be available for purchase at the festival.

BYO camping is included in the price of your festival ticket.
There will be BYO camping areas available in some of the camping neighbourhoods. Guests can check the festival map to see where these areas are located.
These areas all work on a first-come, first-served basis.
Yes. Should you wish to resell your ticket or gift it to a friend, you can transfer the ticket into someone else's name.
Ticket transfers are available up until 2 weeks before the event.

We have a resale platform open directly on our Howler ticket shop.
Please only make use of this platform when reselling or buying tickets, as there are plenty of scammers out there.
Yes. You will first need to purchase the accommodation option you would like to upgrade to.
You can then email Howler at support@howler.co.za to request a refund for your original accommodation type. Please include both your newly purchased ticket details and your original ticket details in the email.
Howler will then refund you for the accommodation ticket you had previously purchased.
Please note that all accommodation upgrades and transfers must be completed no later than 2 weeks before the festival.
Yes, your friends can camp with you in your vehicle camping bay, as long as all tents and the vehicle fit within the allocated space.
Standard vehicle camping bays are 5m × 5m, and XL vehicle camping bays are 10m × 10m.
Please note that only one vehicle with a valid vehicle camping pass will be permitted through the vehicle camping entrance.
There will be portable showers and toilets available in each camping area, as well as basins for all your ablution needs.
These are cleaned throughout the festival for your comfort.
